Team Building Cruise San Francisco Bay

Team Building Cruise San Francisco BayBusinesses often use team building activities for their employees. Why are these activities so useful in business? They teach corporate managers and employees to “think outside the box” by getting them out of their normal surroundings. Team building activities improve team dynamics, build trust and facilitates communication and teamwork. Overall, they are helpful for building camaraderie among the employees so everyone works at their peak performance. That is why we offer a Team Building Cruise San Francisco Bay.

Why chose a Team Building Cruise San Francisco Bay?

San Francisco yacht charters are ideal for team building activities. If you are looking for the right place to hold your next corporate team building event, look no further than Empress Events – the perfect “out of the box” location.

Choosing to host your event on a yacht that is sailing the San Francisco Bay will get your employees out of their offices and cubicles. A change of location is often all it takes to spark new creativity. A yacht is secluded and limited in size building unity and communication between employees.

Team Building Cruise Activities:

What type of team building activities can you host on a San Francisco yacht charter? The only limitations are your imagination and the willingness of your employees to participate. Here are some ideas you may want to include:

  1. Problem solving exercises that relate to a specific work issue. In fact, if you can find something that has similar elements but is very different, you may find your team is able to work together to find a solution for a fictitious problem that can be used back at the office.
  2. Mission impossible may be what some of your employees think about a certain issue they are facing. Have your employees break up into small teams, being sure to split up people that normally work together, and present them with an impossible task. Ask the teams to come up with possible solutions to their impossible mission. Having a few new heads may bring new solutions to the table.
  3. Trust building activities can be helpful. No, you do not have to ask your employees to close their eyes and fall back, hoping someone is there to catch them. There are other ways to build trust.
  4. Your employees could play out a murder mystery. The planner would secretly ask one employee to “play” a murderer who is removing people from the group. The remaining employees must work together to determine who the guilty party is. There are pre-prepared mysteries of this type or you may want to come up with some ideas of your own.

And the options go on and on. Empress Events can help you plan a team building cruise that will not only build communication and cooperation but will also be enjoyable for everyone. Therefore, Call today to plan your Team Building Cruise San Francisco Bay.

Below are various occasions where choosing a corporate yacht charter is a great option.  The occasions include holidays, retirement and employee appreciation parties.

Holidays:

Companies often throw holiday parties. These allow employees the opportunity to get together, either during the workday or outside of it, to celebrate the holidays. Some companies will allow employees to bring in dishes which they share with each other. Others will cater a meal, finger foods or snacks. Still others will host a party offsite, often at a hotel or party hall. One underutilized option is a chartered boat. It’s too bad that it is underutilized because it’s a terrific option and one that employees are likely to enjoy.

Retirement Parties:

It’s a big deal when an employee retires. This is especially true when the employee is a valued one. Hosting a retirement party on a yacht is really a great departure from the office conference room. An annual retirement party where that year’s retirees are honored would likely go over quite well and be appreciated by the retiree.

Employee Appreciations:

It is extremely important for a company to relay to its employees how much they are appreciated. Doing so helps to improve employee morale. While there are many ways to show appreciation, chartering out a yacht for the employees would be one of the very best.

Top Reasons for Planning a San Francisco Bay Yacht Charter for Your Next Corporate Meeting

Corporate Events on the waterYou have to plan an important business meeting. Consider these top reasons for planning a San Francisco Bay yacht charter for your next corporate meeting. When you’re ready to make your reservation, contact the staff of Empress Events to schedule your meeting 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

A San Francisco Bay yacht charter will be a neutral, stress-free environment. Your employees won’t feel the need to ‘perform’ like they would at the office or a traditional meeting venue. They can relax which may encourage employees to come up with new ways of doing things that hadn’t been thought of before.

Unlike corporate events which are held at hotels, the employee isn’t likely to make an appearance and then disappear. They’re a captive audience but they may find themselves actually enjoying the meeting because of the location. While they can take a stroll out on the deck, they really can’t go very far.

Being away from the office may also encourage everyone to be more willing to open up and express themselves. They may feel less ‘threatened’ by upper management because they see them in a different light. Management can seem to be more like the rest of the employees when they’re away from the office.

A San Francisco Bay yacht charter is also good for team building. Employees may spend eight hours a day together but they rarely get to know one another. Being on a yacht out in the bay is the perfect opportunity to work together and build camaraderie.

The cruise in San Francisco Bay is also a great way to reward employees for a job well done. Imagine the surprise on your employee’s faces when you tell them where to go for the corporate meeting. They’ll be shocked and amazed at the mini-vacation they’re being given even if you do expect some work to occur.

Stanford Summer Picnic

Empress Events Hosts Stanford Team Building Cruise to Angel Island May, 2008

Wow, a beautiful sunny day on the bay with a forecast of 90 degrees! Amazing! We started off by leaving Sausalito with a yacht filled with crew. Also we took barbeque supplies, food, flowers and games early in the morning…at 7 am to be exact! The entire crew was excited about the beautiful weather, as we were eager to be on Angel Island. We couldn’t wait to help the group to enjoy their team building activities and a fantastic lunch. We arrived at Angel Island at 7:45 a.m. and dropped the chefs, game manager, and two servers off. They went off to set up the picnic area. The rest of the crew continued on to Pier 40 in San Francisco to pick up the guests.

The yacht looked beautiful with custom flowers by Lisa Brown at FloraLisa and burgundy table cloths. The brunch on the yacht was fantastic. It included smoked salmon, capers, croissants, bagels, cream cheese, jams, fresh fruit, and fresh juices. We boarded 102 guests who arrived via private shuttle arranged by our management. The Captain, Gerry Robertson, welcomed the guests aboard. The guests had a fantastic brunch service while cruising to Angel Island. They were treated to fantastic views of the Bay Bridge, San Francisco city line and the Golden Gate bridge. They also saw Alcatraz, The Richmond/San Rafael Bridge, and Angel Island. Some guests even played bingo on the cruise over! The full premium open bar was a real hit and we had shots all around!

Lunch and Games

We docked at Angel Island and 102 guests disembarked excitedly onto the Island. The game manager and chefs greeted out guests as they disembarked.  Right away, about 20 guests picked up a game of volleyball. Some picked up bad-mitten and others began games of croquet. We served the barbecue lunch about 20 minutes after arriving. The menu was customized with our Executive Chef, Jared Seaton. He made sure the menu fit the groups individual tastes before the event. It included gourmet cheeses, specialty breads, different types of barbecue skewers, three different salads, and a variety of other items. We also had plenty of ice cold water on hand for the warm weather.

The guests enjoyed their wonderful lunch under bright blue skies on picnic tables beautifully covered by our staff with white coverings. The benches were also covered for the guests. As lunch was concluding, the team began introducing themselves and telling each other a little about their individual job. It was wonderful to see at least three quarters of the group participating in this! Others went on hikes. Eventually we took the volleyball net down to make room for a fun game of cricket!

After two and half beautiful hours on the island, it was time to begin our cruise back to Pier 40. On the way back we served wonderful truffles and petit fours for dessert and the bars opened up again. We saw some wonderful sights and were treated to a whale sighting on the way back! We also dipped into McCovey cove where a baseball game was going on. Most noteworthy was the wonderful way to end a great team building day!
